Community sharing:  Women shared that poor sanitation; improper solid waste management and inappropriate potable water directly affect them and their children because males remain outside for the whole day. Poor sanitation is responsible for the:

1. Seasonal and epidemic diseases.

2. Water-logging of houses.

3. Communal disputes.

4. Physical incidences.

5. Bad and inappropriate atmosphere.

Justification for the proposal “LOW COST PIT LATRINES”

1.Women shared that they are habitual to attend open fields for two times a day (early morning and early night). They shared military men remain near or in the fields which is creating problem for them.

2. To visit open area, is not feasible especially for women during the day time. Further, during day farmers usually work in the field they cannot permit to attend fields.

3. Women go to the field in the night for excreta, which happened serious in different cases. Usually, the women wait for the night which causes gas problem and intestinal problems, to keep excreta for the whole day.

4. To visit open fields is unhygienic.

5. In such circumstances, women make small place in the houses and flood water into the street which causes sanitation problems.

6. In three cases of snake bites, girls’ rape and kidnapped happened while attending the field for excreta purposes.

7. Stagnant water is the cause of flies and mosquitoes
