What We Do ? { Sister Organizations }

AIM is working with the help of sister organizations in the following cities of Pakistan.

 

1.Hasalpur(District Bhawalpur)           2.Sheikhupura          3. Faisalabad        4.Sahiwal          5. Multan

6. Lahore                                      6.Khusabad

The objectives behind is to work with the community, where we are unable to reach, so the sister organizations are most reliable and viable source of development.

Network Organizations:

AIM is also working with the organizations already existed but needed some information and guidance to improve their approach and capacities and AIM involved with the organizations of the following cities of Pakistan .

NOAD (Network of Organizations for Agricultural Development)

 

    

 

History of the NOAD: All representatives of the organizations had opportunities to meet each other from time to time but the meetings were informal. Formation of the network is also the main agenda of the informal meetings. In the meantime, the we three organizations (IRDC, RCDP and AIM) have the same sponsor. In this context we have first meeting at IRDC office on June 09,2003.That meeting was hosted by IRDC. In the meeting the members selected AIM Centre as the first convening office and AIM’s Executive Secretary as the first convener of the network.  noadnet@brain.net.pk .AIM will work for this network for three years, starting from June 2003 till May 2006.WASTA (An NGO) Hasalpur is the 4th member of NOAD.

OBJECTIVES OF THE NETWORK

  • To train youth as the progressive farmers.
  • To organize joint agricultural development programs.
  • To organize training program with the exclusive focus of women.
  • To organize agricultural training programs for other areas of different organizations to the network.
  • To share the resources to increase the organizations’ viability and sustainability.

NOAD organized one day seminar with its agricultural staff on WTO, its objectives and its effects on small farmers and they tackle them. Participants shared that they learnt lot of things and now they are able to convey to their focus farmers.

One day Seminar On Integrated Agriculture With the further focus of Livestock raising , care and marketing

Seminar on Cotton Sowing May 06,2005 Conference Centre Chichawatni Under the management of NOAD.
  Seminar was organized with the agricultural staff of IRDC, RCDP and AIM to aware and to educate them that how they help them farmers to improve their cotton crop.
 

  

In the conclusion session the following recommendations are made

 

Educate and aware the marginal and small farmers to grow alternative crops rather cotton crop.

In keeping the recommendation, it is planned that seminars will be started in the working rural areas by IRDC,RCDP and AIM to aware and to educate farmers to find ways as the alternatives of exhaustive crops. Small farmers’ existence is only in integrated agriculture.

Next seminar will be on June 20, 2005 as the continue phase on INTEGRATED AGRICULTURE (Livestock rearing by IRDC).

Next program
According to NOAD’s members next three seminars with the farmers of Okara, Stunzabad and Doctorwala. The objectives of the seminars will be the sharing of learning about livestock in two seminars by IRDC. The first seminar will be with the farmers of Okara, the working area of AIM on July 16,2005.
