According to our approach TB is not single problem but
responsible for many other problems.
It
is the social problem because:
1.No body is ready to give job or labour to TB patient.
Economic and social problem.
2.Unmarried TB boy/girl never accept for Marriage.
3.No body like to talk with the TB patients, Social
barrier.
It
is the economic problem, because:
1. No labour.
2. More health expenses.
3. No specific doctor or facility for the treatment.
People approach unqualified Practitioners
for cheap treatment which is not effective.
4.TB resistant while taking different inappropriate
medicines.
It
is the health problem, because
1.Resposnible for other disease
2.Infect other people.
3. Lacking facility for its treatment by any other
agency.
Target
population:
This program is for the community working in carpet and blanket
weaving sectors, in textile units and keeping different
types of carts. On an average they have 4-5 children
living in the houses of 1-2 rooms. Their annual income
is $:300-400.The population of these areas is selected
due to following reasons.

economic problems due prevalence of TB disease.

prevalence of this disease.
Relationship
with the National Program:
Government of
Pakistan
is well aware about the problems due to this disease and
also in appreciable gesture. National TB Control Program
developed guidelines for the implementation of this
program with collaboration of WHO to control TB. These
guidelines are with us and have practical implementation
in our program. Our Government is unable to reach to all
parts of the country due lacking enough resources.
According to our approach we are (NGOs) are the helping
hand of our government.
AIM’s
learning from this project:
1. TB patients and their care takers needed information regarding
this disease, its causes, its expansion and social and
economic barriers due to it.
2. Patients needed near and dependable treatment source.
3. Patients and their care takers keep keen interest in the
technical sessions.
4. TB is expanding more rapidly in the rural areas.
5. TB outreach program is
necessary to accommodate remote urban and rural areas’
patients. |
